Child Care Center Assistant Director: 

Seeking an experienced Child Care Assistant Director to help manage operations of our high energy, play-based child care center focused on STEM concepts in a dual-language environment (English/Spanish).  Our school is located near Mueller on IH35 and is a TRS 4 star accredited licensed center caring for children ages 18 months to 5 years of age.

Candidate shall have 3 to 4+ years of experience in managing all aspects of a child care center including administration, training, scheduling, and customer relations. Candidate is able to anticipate needs as they arise and is able to step in where needed to ensure the center is providing the best quality service possible.  Candidate is enthusiastic and adaptable and complies with state and TRS standards as well as company policies and procedures.  Having some experience recruiting and training staff is highly desired.

Requirements

Experience: 4 years of experience as an Assistant Director of a licensed center (3 years considered).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (in Child Development), Education, or Business.  CDA or 18 hours in Early Childhood Education (with 6 in management) considered.

Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Training: Must be capable of maintaining 36+ continuing education hours per year

CPR and First aid certification.

Ability to clear FBI and background check.

Schedule: Flexibility to work with center's extended schedule as needed.

Collaborates with management to maintain optimal day to day operations.

Demonstrates excellent organizational and leadership skills with strong customer service and communication skills.

Possesses skills, attributes and characteristics conducive to and suitable for dealing with children, parents, coworkers, clients and management.

Helps maintain safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment to promote positive interactions with children and staff.

Maintains school-wide compliance with TRS standards and company P&P.

Ability to communicate company policies and procedures in a firm and clear manner to staff and parents.

Inspire and support staff with curriculum implementation in classrooms.

Works well under pressure.

Understanding of general business practices and ability to grow student enrollment.

Enthusiasm towards parent and community relations.

Expected to interact daily with all students as well as assisting teachers in managing student behavior.

Keep inventory and order supplies for the school and is proficient in Microsoft office.

Keeps Management informed on any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children.

Bilingual  Lead Teacher:  (Full Time)

Teacher reports to the Director, with the primary responsibility for classroom management, planning, organizing, and carrying out activities in line with STEAM framework in a two-way dual language model at our TRS accredited licensed care center.


Position works with children 2 to 3.5 years.  The ratio is 6 to 1.

 

Position starts in 2019 on a Monday to Friday 8:30pm to 5:30pm schedule.
Paid holidays, paid personal time, extensive year-long training opportunities, Owners on campus daily.

 

Must be positive and team-oriented.  Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable.
Must be bi-lingual (English/Spanish).

 

Requirements: 
Experience - Three (3) years of Experience in childcare preferred (
one year minimum).  
Education in early childhood and college degree or hours are preferred.
Practice or familiarity with Conscious Discipline a plus.

Understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods a plus.
Required to maintain 30 hours of training annually.

  • Encourages children to interact with each other and resolve occasional disagreements in a positive way.

  • Guides children to develop their practical and creative capabilities through our STEM curriculum.

  • Tracks children's progress and report to parents and develop a relationship with parents for continued communication.

  • Is able to positively collaborate with other educators.

  • Must have the energy and physical ability to run, bend, lift, sit on the floor for extended periods.

  • Maintains a clean and tidy classroom and manages resources efficiently.

  • Observes state and TRS standards along with our policies and procedures for child safety, hygiene, and logistics.

Assistant Teachers: (Full Time and Part Time)

Assists Teacher/Caregiver in controlling the classroom environment.  Helps teacher prepare daily lessons, assists with child personal care, feeding and supervision. Willing to learn and participate in all aspects of the daily curriculum.  Fluency in a second language not required but preferred.  Candidates currently enrolled in an early childhood degree plan or a related field are encouraged to apply.  Genuine interest in STEAM Education is highly desired.

Substitutes:

We are actively looking for personnel interested in participating in our substitute program.  All substitutes shall have similar qualifications as those of the Assistant Teachers, or higher.

  • Shall be required to pass a background check and fingerprint

  • First Aid / CPR training (not required for substitutes)

  • All school personnel are on probationary status during the first ninety (90) days of employment.

  • Must be able to handle academic equipment including but not limited to basic chemicals, scientific, technological, and engineering type of instruments.
